ALEXA GREEN is best known for her turn as Glinda in the Los Angeles and San Francisco companies of the hit Broadway musical Wicked. She appeared alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Patti LuPone in the international cinematic release of Stephen Sondheim’s Company with The New York Philharmonic live from Lincoln Center. Alexa has toured both nationally and internationally as a singer and actor on national tours and regionally and is passionate about the development of new musical theatre, most recently appearing in the regional premiere of Broadway playwright Douglas Lyons’s new musical, The Moon and The Sea. She has appeared as a guest star with symphonies nationwide and has most recently worked in the studio with 16-time, Grammy Award-winning record producer and songwriter David Foster on his upcoming Broadway musicals. She has been a soloist in the acclaimed concert series Broadway Sings for the past 12 years and has appeared nationwide singing background vocals for Grammy, Tony, Oscar, and Emmy winners Cher, Carole King, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Raye, Rodney Atkins, Rose Falcon, Aaron Tveit, Shoshana Bean, Alex Newell, and John Tartaglia and appearing as a vocalist on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and The 2024 Met Gala. Alexa received critical acclaim for her sold-out solo show, A Shining Hour, at Feinstein’s 54 Below, and with much anticipation, Broadway Records released Alexa’s debut solo album, So Good. She was nominated among Broadway legends Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, and Barbra Streisand winning Best New Solo Recording at the 2016 BroadwayWorld Awards. She was a two-time 2020 BroadwayWorld nominee for Best Debut Show: A Shining Hour and Best Commercial Recording: So Good. Most recently, Alexa returned from The Broadway Cruise where she performed her solo show, Sun and Show Tunes as a guest entertainer aboard Norwegian Cruise Line alongside Brian Stokes Mitchell, Annaleigh Ashford, Shoshana Bean, Caissie Levy, Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal, and Wayne Brady. Alexa is currently a soprano member of the Tony-winning Broadway Inspirational Voices, celebrating their 30th anniversary season. She is repped by Rich Martino and Tyler Nowakowski at Whole Artist Management.
Alexa holds an MA in Music and Music Education with a specialization in vocal pedagogy from Columbia University, Teachers College, and a BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). As an educator, Alexa is currently on the voice faculty at Molloy University/CAP 21 and Marymount Manhattan College in the Theatre Arts/Musical Theatre departments and owns her private practice, Alexa Green VOICE in NYC working in residence with singers, actors, and speakers both at the college and professional level. Alexa chooses to focus on a student-centered approach to learning, celebrating her students’ diversity and employing various methodologies within her studio. Alexa is passionate about vocal health and longevity and with a background in musical theatre and contemporary commercial music (CCM) styles, Alexa accesses technical aspects to create a multidisciplinary approach for the professional voice user in singing, acting, voice and speech, and vocal production. She currently serves as the Vocal Supervisor for recording artists and music industry professionals at NYC’s premiere record label, Hollow Spirit Studios has numerous students competing on network television in American Idol, The Voice, The X Factor, and America’s Got Talent as well as students performing in over 30 Broadway shows and national tours. She is a member of AEA, NATS, VASTA, and The Voice Foundation. Alexa hopes to pursue her Doctorate and continue contributing to the field of pedagogy through her research and performance as a teaching artist and musician.
